The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

The Millington Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Pig N Whistle located at 6084 Kerrville Rosemark Road. For more information, call George Crews at 872-4232 or e-mail

The Millington Quilters Guild meets every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maple Room located at 7942 Church Street. Weekly activities and projects are developed for all levels of quilters. This group makes several items to give back to groups such as veterans, families in need, those injured overseas, and children’s hospital’s.

Millington Airport Authority Board of Commissioners Meetings are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. every third Tuesday at Millington Regional Jetport. For more information, call 873-5796.

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Soul Out Ministries’ Hot Nutritional Meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. The program is a local non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Join Dance Night at the Baker Community Center the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 7-10 p.m. If you want to brush up on your dancing skills, you are welcome to join us for a free dance lesson from 6-7 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a snack to share. Sept. 17
The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1382 meeting will be held at noon, Thursday, Sept. 17 at Ryan’s, 8165 Highway 51 North in Millington. Fall Health & Nutrition Seminar will be held Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn ion Highway 51 North in Millington. The topic will be Cellular Energy & Healthy Detox. World renown scientist John Miller will be the guest. There is a cost and for more information, contact 873-0085.

Sept. 17-23 commemorates the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America, which occurred 228 years ago.
The River City Chapter , Daughters of the American Revolution would like to invite the public to go to the Millington Library on Sept. 17 between 10 a.m. and noon, and the Covington Library between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to view the displays and meet members of the River City Chapter and help celebrate the birthday of the Constitution.

Sept. 19
The 2015 Celebrate Munford will be held Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Downtown Munford. Celebrate Munford will be featuring Jessica Burns, I-69, Skyelor Anderson and Swingin Leroy. Also scheduled to appear are the Munford High School Alumni Band and Marching Ban. For more information, visit

The Millington VFW Post 7175, located at 4681 Cuba Millington Road, will host a Fall Festival Sept. 19 with Car, Bike and Truck Show. There is an entry fee for vehicles with the Best of Show and Peoples’ Choice Awards. The deadline to register is 11 a.m. on the day of the event. Pokerface Events and New Stars Wrestling (NSW) Owner, Quenton “Pokerface” Williams, has announced the date and location of the Second Annual Millington Mayhem pro wrestling event Sept. 19 at the N-82 Gymnasium. The theme will be Loving Our Troops. The gym holds a capacity of 2,000. Williams has invited Millington VFW Post 7175 as special guest, as well as other area VFW’s. There will be free admission to active and retired military with PROPER MILITARY ID. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Log on to or email for questions or info.

Sept. 21

The pastor and members of Upper Canaan M.B. Church located at 9090 Highway 51 North are  inviting you to join them Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.  Their combined  regular Worship Service and Annual Homecoming program will begin at 2 p.m. You will have a great time in the Lord. Promiseland M.B. Church of Millington will be the guest church with Pastor O C Horton delivering the Word. This Fall
West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be having a series of sermons based on the book of Romans. The title of the series is ‘The Gospel of God.’  The sermons will be on Sundays at 11 p.m., ending the middle of November. The sermons will be delivered by Rev. James Hamblin.

Oct. 2-3
On Friday, the Byars Hall High School Class of 1950 will meet at 3:30 p.m. at Garland United Methodist Church Family Life Center for fun and a meal. Also on Saturday, the classmates will enjoy fun and fellowing starting at 4 p.m. and dinner with entertainment by Gary Abbott at the Covington Country Club at 5 p.m. Reservations must be made by calling 409-3898 or 475-9207.

Oct. 5
The Millington School Board will conduct a Community Meeting at 6 p.m. in the Board Chamber at City Hall to receive feedback from residents regarding the school system’s Strategic Goals for the current fiscal year. The board’s regular monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Chamber.
