New Drug Cases

By David Peel

David PeelIt seems that every time you turn on the TV there’s another lawyer’s firm advertising for another kind of drug case.
If the whole thing seems scary, it’s because it is. Even the pharmaceutical companies run commercials that list many side effects.
Here is a partial list of current drugs that are either in litigation or under investigation:
Xarelto is a blood thinner allegedly linked to internal bleeding, including brain bleeds, and death. There’s an active case filed.
The following are drugs or devices that are being closely watched by attorneys:
Transvaginal mesh has been recognized by the FDA recently to be more risky than some other options.
Lipitor a statin drug that treats high cholesterol has recently been linked to the development of type two diabetes.
Testerone replacement therapy or TRT have reportedly been linked to an increased risk of stroke heart attack and even death. Prescription treatments include AndroGel.
Viagra is now being linked, according to some, with melanoma.
Talcum powder has been linked to ovarian cancer in at least one case.
The use of a power morcellator has been discontinued. It was found that as it grinds away uterine tumors it could actually spread the cancer cells.
Risperdal has been linked to unusual breast development and young men and boys.
Thyroid cancer and pancreatic cancer have been linked in recent studies to the diabetes drugs by Byetta,  Januvia, Janumet and Victoza.
Indeed, The vast majorities of people taking prescription medication have no problems and actually achieve many benefits that the prescription promises.
But it does make sense for consumers to research the medications that they are on, understand them and always double-check your medicine when you pick it up from the pharmacy. We found quite a few pharmacy mistakes cause people have serious concerns.
You can look up your prescription online and look at the picture of the pill and make sure it matches.
This is important for you to do if you were a caregiver or dealing with someone who has less ability to double-check their own medications.
Most pharmacists are excellent and would much appreciate you finding any potential mistake before you actually take the medicine. Let’s work together to keep each other safe.
