Johnnie P. Alston Memorial logo Johnnie P. Alston MemorialOn Sept. 20, 2014, St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church located in Drummonds, lost a beloved member to domestic violence.  St. Mark Church and surrounding communities will be remembering Johnnie Patricia Alston with an Inaugural Memorial 5K family walk/run to bring awareness to this senseless act of violence.
“We invite you to the Johnnie P. Alston Inaugural Memorial Walk/Run on Nov. 7, 2015, at 8 a.m., at Munford High School, 1080 McLaughlin Drive, Munford,” an organizer said.
Domestic Violence is suffered greatly throughout our surrounding counties. The goal for the Johnnie P. Alston Memorial Walk/Run is to raise a conscious awareness of domestic violence. Proceeds will fund Northwest Safeline to assist survivals of domestic violence in the Tipton County area and bring awareness to graduating seniors from Munford High School.
St. Mark’s ability to continue educating and advocating its outreach is contingent upon the generous support and participation from our community’s residents, businesses and leaders. It is “Time to Take a Stand” against domestic violence.  We look forward to having you as a partner in this cause and seeing you, Nov. 7.
