After Mrs. Claus hosted brunch in Flag City, she joined her husband Santa to be apart of the scheduled hour-long parade featuring civic organizations, local schools, bands, charities, clubs and plenty of candy. Area children like Nylah Macklin, 4, of Millington lined up early with her mother and brother. Making the trip up from Woodstock was 7-year-old Karolina de’Leon with her mother ready for the sights and sounds…and some candy. Big children like Millington residents and sisters Lillie and Mary Carruthers didn’t come outside on the sunny afternoon for candy. But the women wanted to enjoy the annual holiday traditions. But parade goers like 8-year-old Madison Donaldson made the most of snatching up a bag-full of candy. The float of the day stopped the children from grabbing wrapped treats off the Navy Road pavement. It was Santa in a Millington-made sleigh pulled by nine signature goats.
