Jhane Taylor crowningOn the weekend of Valentine’s Day, love was in the air in the William Osteen Gymnasium with Millington Central High School conducting its 2016 Winterfest festivities.

The bright smile of senior Jhane Taylor sparked underneath her new shining tiara Friday night when she was crowned 2016 Winterfest Queen by 2015 recipient Mollie Molito.

“This feel so great,” Taylor said standing next to her escort and father John. “I’ve wanted this for so long. I was on the court last year as a junior. I knew I wasn’t going to win then. But this year I felt a lot of pressure because I had a chance to win.”

The daughter of LaShuna Manning and John Taylor was selected for the honor this year. The title of Winterfest Queen will add to her senior year and accomplishments at MCHS. Taylor was a Millington Trojan Football cheerleader and member of the National Honor Society. She is a student volunteer and tutor.

She has plans on attending Austin Peay University to major in accounting. With her smile still sparkling, Taylor wanted to thank those who made her crowning possible.

“I feel very loved,” Taylor concluded. “I love all my friends.”
