The Millington Exchange Club recently held its annual Mystery Dinner Theater Feb. 13 with a Valentine theme at the Mid-South Conference Center. This is an annual fundraiser for the Exchange. The Millington High School Drama Department performed “Just Desserts” at the dinner. There were several Millington area sponsors. “We would like to thank you all,” Exchange member Tia Lord said.
The Club awarded 2 Exchangite of the Year Awards — Ken Sullivan ~ 2014 and Pat Anderson ~ 2015

Chamber Happenings
*Thursday, March 17 at  7:30 a.m., the Military Appreciation Breakfast honoring the Military Personnel of the Year will be held at the at N-82 Gym located at 792 Memphis Ave in Millington. Tickets are $15 and you must reserve tickets prior to the event. Email:

*Millington Crisis Center Needs: As some of you know, the Millington Crisis Center was broken into twice in the past 2 months.  The Center is in need of diapers, formulas, toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, shampoo, and monetary donations.  The Center is open Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., each week.  Donations can be brought to 8133 Wilkinsville Road.  The Center also have a  “gofundme” page on our FB page.

IRG Sports + Entertainment™ (IRGSE), a TPG portfolio company, Sunoco, and the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau announced today that the World Series of Drag Racing is returning this summer, but to a new and larger facility in a major league sports market. The world’s longest continually running drag racing event will celebrate its 63rd year at the Mid-South’s premiere motorsports destination, Memphis International Raceway (MIR) August 26- 27 with support from Sunoco and the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau.

-The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

-The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

-The Millington Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Old Timers located at 7918 C Street. For more information, call David Adams at 581-4886.

-Soul Out Ministries’ Hot Nutritional Meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. The program is a local non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1382 meeting will be held Thursday, March 17 at the Millington Public Library, 4857 Navy Road, at noon.  You may bring a brown bag lunch if you desire to do so.  The guest speaker will be Rhonda Mooney, NARFE Tennessee Federation First Vice-President.  For more information, call Carolyn Cribbis at 413-7123.

March 25
Easter Egg Hunt on the Library front lawn will be held March 25 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Millington Public Library. The event if for babies and toddlers 0-24 months old; 11:20 AM – 2-4 years; and 11:45- children ages 5-9 years. Come join us at the Millington Public Library for Easter egg hunting fun at 4858 Navy Road in Millington. The event is free. For more information, call 872-1585.

April 2
The Kiwanis Club of Millington’s Annual Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Harvell Community Center Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. There is a cost and come out to enjoy a hearty breakfast with all proceeds going to support youth and elderly program in the community.
