By Thomas Sellers Jr.

Jonathan Clement signing 1 Jonathan Clements signing 2Millington Trojans senior Jonathan Clements has kept the recent tradition of Millington Football players reaching the next level. Since Head Coach Chris Michael has taken over in 2010, the Trojans have seen players like Alan Cross, Roland Genesy, Brandon Carmichael, Jamal Collier, LeKeron Garcia and Patrick Macon either sign or earn walk-on status to play college football.

Today in the Millington Central High School Library, Clements along with his parents Michael Sr. and Dalphane Scott by his side inked his national letter of intent to attend the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill.

Clements will most likely play strong safety for the Chaparrals’ nationally ranked program. The Trojan known as JonJon earned recognition and recruiting attention from the next level with is outstanding play for the Millington defense.

Clements started to see significant time as a sophomore at defensive end and linebacker. He was one of the leading tacklers and sack makers for the Millington defense the past two seasons.

Clements followed in the footsteps of his older brother Michael playing for the Trojans. Michael was also present for the signing ceremony. The elder Clements was a member of the best football team in school history as a defensive standout for the 2007 Trojans going 13-1.

The younger Clement said his big brother was one of his inspirations every time he wore the black and gold.

Now Clements will wear the green and black of DuPage and play for Head Coach Matt Foster.
