Jean Austin Clark, 86, of Millington, died peacefully Sunday, April 3, holding his wife’s hand, in Jonesboro, Ark.  He was born December 17, 1929, in Century, Fla., to Richard Paris Clark and Mercied Gillian Chaudron-Clark. He grew up with three brothers (Paris Jr., Fred, and Norvelle) in Montgomery, Ala.  He married Melody Anita Williams, in 1953.  He is survived by his wife Melody, and his 4 children, Raymond of Braggadocio, Mo.; Dorinda Haley of Watkinsville, Ga.; Michael of Mt. Juliet; and Deanna Sprinkle of Jonesboro, Ark.  He leaves 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who were his sunshine. Jean served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 – 1971. During his career, he trained and worked with an Underwater Demolition Team, shot for the Navy’s Rifle Team, and served aboard several ships as an engineman.  Jean served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired in 1971, making Millington, his family’s hometown.  Jean later worked on Riverboats, owned Cl Ark’s Gun Shop, and with his wife, managed Herb Parson’s Lake. Always a supporter of education, Mr. Jean Clark willed his body to The Genesis Legacy Project, which supports medical education and research.  A memorial service will be held on April 30 at Lighthouse Fellowship, 3719 Shelby Road, Millington, TN 38053 at 3:00 p.m.  Donations may be made in his name, to Hospice or The Genesis Legacy Project.
