Rosemark Receives $14,500 Grant

Rosemark GrantUSDA Rural Development State Director Bobby Goode recently awarded Historic Archives of Rosemark and Environs, Inc. with Rural Development funding which will be used to assist with marketing A Country Fair at Rosemark, an event with numerous local business participants.
“Small, local businesses are the engines of a rural community,” Goode said. “We are happy to assist with the potential expansion of these emerging businesses and ultimately increase jobs and economic opportunities in the area.”
As a recipient of RD’s Rural Business Development Grant, HARE will receive $14,500 to market and promote Rosemark’s annual Country Fair. In addition to the emphasis of marketing the event, HARE will use a small portion of the grant funds to cover the costs to rent tents and purchase necessary equipment such as tables, chairs and garbage cans.
A Country Fair at Rosemark is a celebration of rural life that offers a unique opportunity to the local businesses of northern Shelby County and southern Tipton County to showcase their products and services. Members of the HARE Board of Directors are: Cary E. Vaughn, William “Trip” Jones, Andrew Womack, Penny Saucier Glover, Denna Krosp, Ruth Blakey Billingsley, Lee Castles Henwood, Leah Ruddock, Kent Moorlach, Benny Hugh Billingsley, Mike Leggett and Jon Phipps McCalla.
USDA Rural Development is moving investments to rural America with housing, business and infrastructure loans and grants to create jobs and strengthen rural economies with an emphasis to assist areas of persistent poverty.  Since 2009, the agency has assisted more than 1.5 million Tennessee families and businesses in 230 communities in all 95 counties of Tennessee, investing more than $6.6 billion through affordable loans, loan guarantees, and grants.
