Wilson Lowry
The Munford Cougar senior was a key part of the 8-0 start the team enjoyed in the 2015 season. From his running back position, he scored touchdowns and kept drives alive with timely first downs. Lowry helped the Cougars reached the Class 5A Playoffs. He was named to the West Tennessee All-Star Football Game scoring the game-winning touchdown.

Football Defensive Star of the Season
Zack Camp
Brighton’s Camp had an All-American season helping the Cardinals win the Region championship with a 9-1 regular season record. Camp was a leader on the field and off the field for the 2016 Cardinals. He was one of the leading tacklers on defense and was the one setting up the defense.

Volleyball Star of the Season
Ashley Freeze
The Millington Lady Trojan senior led her team to a historic season reaching Sub-State for the first time in program history. Freeze was named MVP of the District 15-2A Tournament. She was a key offensive standout for the Lady Trojans and had timely defensive plays.

Wrestling Star of the Season
Sean Srock
Millington Trojan Wrestler Sean Srock earned the sixth-place medal in this year’s State Wrestling Tournament in Franklin. Srock earned a medal in the 160-pound division. He and teammate Charles Rockiemore reached State for the Trojans. Rockiemore went 2-2 finishing seventh in his division. Meanwhile Srock was 2-3 at State. He took second at Regionals earlier this month and he finished the regular season with a record of 19-2.

Girls Soccer Star of the Season
Erin Detter
The Munford Lady Cougar was a senior leader off the field for the 2015 District 13-3A champions. She was also one of the leading scorers for the squad.

Girls Basketball Star of the Season
Johnna Jones
The Munford Lady Cougar junior was named MVP of the Region 7-3A Tournament helping her team win the championship. Jones was one of leaders in three-point shooting for the Lady Cougars and among the leading scorers on the team. She was a part of the Munford Big Three along side Gabby Crawford and Shania Johnson.

Basketball Star of the Season
Taelyr Gatlin
The Brighton Cardinal sophomore guard was among the leaders in points and assists for his team in 2015-16. Gatlin was a key part of the Cardinals winning almost 20 games this season and hosting the Regional Tournament opener.

Golf Star of the Season
Aubree Jones
Brighton’s Aubree Jones’ bid for a third straight Class 3A State Girls Golf Tournament title came up short in October. The two-time State champion finished second in Manchester shooting a -2 par in two rounds. The new State champion was Jayna Choi of Houston High School. Jones did win the Region 7-3A championship shooting a 68 at Glen Eagle.
