Each year E.A. Harrold students decide how many books they are going to attempt to read during the school year. This year’s goal was set at 15,000 books cumulatively among all grade levels with the theme “Blast Off to Reading!” On Tuesday, May 17, the entire school celebrated surpassing this goal by reading, 20,933 books! This averages to over 55 books per student and over 33 million words! Students assembled outside on this beautiful sunny afternoon where Mrs. Mandy Compton, principal, congratulated them and welcomed several special guests including: Superintendent, Dr. David Roper; Board Members- Larry Jackson and Don Holsinger; as well as the part time assistant principal- Dr. Robert Gordon.
