Arts & Rec logo-Soul Out Ministries’ nutritional meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. The program is a local non-profit organization, tax deductible. -The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

-The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

-The Millington Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Old Timers located at 7918 C Street. For more information, call David Adams at 581-4886.

-The EA chapter is here in Millington. Emotions Anonymous International. Emotions Anonymous (EA) exists to support individuals with emotional difficulties in their efforts to live a more manageable life by using the Emotions Anonymous Program of recovery. July 9
A Mission Yard Sale sponsored by Emmanuel the Word Church will take place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Go Getaway Bed and Breakfast located on 126 Tipton Street South in Munford. There will be clothing, kitchen items, grab bags, shoes, baby items, furniture and car parts.

July 11-13
Vacation Bible School will be held nightly at Promiseland M. B. Church, located at 3728 West Union Road in Millington from  6 to 8 p.m. beginning Monday July 11 through Wednesday July 13.   There is a class for every age group. O. C. Horton Jr., Pastor For more information, call 353-8034.

July 18
Kids Camp will be held at the Baker Community Center from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday July 18 – Friday July 22. Kids Camp is here! Come join Millington Arts, Recreation, and Parks for a fun summer week of events! This event is for ages 6-12 years old. This week will be filed with many recreational activities, arts and crafts, and educational programs. The Arts Council has helped to sponsor the arts and crafts for the camp and we will provide free snacks and drinks to each child. Some activities include: roller skating, a variety of sports, a visit from our local State Park Ranger who will be bringing some of her wildlife friends, and many more activities. July 20
Come out and join  the City of Millington’s free dance lessons on the first and third Wednesday night of the month at 7:30-9 p.m. at the Baker Community Center. This is for ages 10 and older. Learn multiple styles of dance from West Coast Swing to Line Dancing! Parents are welcome to come and join in on the classes. Ages 15 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. The dance lessons will be followed by a Dance Night on the last Friday of each month with a cost per child. For more information, call 873-5770.

July 24-27
Vacation Bible School time has arrived at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. VBS is for ages Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade and will be July 24-27. Some of the areas covered will be science, story time, crafts, recreation  and of course, snacks. The hours are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Registration is on July 24 and graduation is July 27. Aug. 27
The Mid-South Camaro Club “Riding For a Cause” presents the Riverfront Car Show at Tom Lee Park Saturday in Memphis. The event will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a fee. All cars are welcome and for more information, call Lisa McPherson at 334-8805. Proceeds will benefit The Wings Foundation. Visit
