As dental health advocates work to lower the barriers to dental care among underserved populations in Tennessee, two new Aspen Dental practices are scheduled to open in December – making access to dental care even easier for residents in the Volunteer State.
Appointments are now available at the first Aspen Dental –branded practices scheduled to open in the Memphis. The Millington office opened today and the Cordova office is scheduled to open on Dec. 15.
The new Millington office is led by Dr. Carlos Alexander, who received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Meharry Medical College. Dr. Cynthia Brown, also received her DDS from Meharry Medical College, will lead the Cordova practice.
The Millington and Cordova offices will bring much-needed access to affordable, quality care, including dental services that range from dentures and preventive care to general dentistry and restoration.
According to a study conducted in 2013 by Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management, the two new office openings support local community growth by contributing nearly $3 million in positive economic impact through job creation and capital investment.
The two new offices, located in Shelby County, are two of the 27 Aspen Dental practices in Tennessee, a state where 93 of 95 counties, including Shelby, have dental health professional shortage areas as designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
