Flag Day ’17

The Memphis and Shelby County Regent’s Council, Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated Flag Day at the Holiday Inn, University  of Memphis on Saturday, June 10, with  98 members of the Chickasaw District and guests attending.
Kathy Ward, Chairman of the Regent’s Council gave the Welcome address and TSDAR Chaplain, Jill Jones Lazuka gave the invocation.  The Bartlett Police Department Color Guard did the presentation of Colors. Kathy Ward introduced the guest speaker, Judge Mary Wagner, Shelby Co. Circuit Court Division VII.  Judge Wagner spoke on the importance of the American flag and what the flag means in our life. Judge Wagner told what the flag means to her 2 year old child.
A presentation of proclamations from the Memphis and Shelby County mayors was read by Yvonne Steadman, Regent of Commodore Perry Chapter.  Abigail Simone, Regent of Hermitage Chapter presented Judge Wagner with a speaker’s gift and Jill Jones Lazuka, gave the benediction.
