The 2018 Lucy Elementary School Career Exploration Day was held May 15 featuring participants invited by professional school counselor Tiffany Sanders. Lucy set up two phases of Career Day with Career on Wheels and Career Presentation.
The Career on Wheels presenters were the Millington Fire Department, TDOT, Millington Police K-9 Unit, J.B. Hunt Trucking, American Red Cross/Lucy Kennel and the Millington Police Department.
Inside the halls of Lucy, students second through fifth grade learned about careers ranging from reflexology therapy to bodybuilding. The 2018 presenters were Kim Burdette (Reflexology Therapist), Kim Stewart (SCS Nutrition Services), Bobby Phillips (Shelby County Sheriff’s Office), Romeka Allen (Methodist Hospital), Lakenya Humphrey (Family Therapist), Ezell Owens Jr. (Bodybuilder Owner), Thomas Sellers Jr. (Millington Star Editor), Carlene Leaper (Executive Director of ARC Mid-South), Chuck Lester (Pastor), Anthony Jackson (Supervisor Federal Court), Chantelle Stokes (Regional One) Andrea Williams (Engineer), SWAT representative and MLG&W representative.

All returning students require a PowerSchool account. Don’t have one? Contact your child’s school or call 416-6007.
All new SCS students must visit their zoned school or approved school choice location to get a PowerSchool account for registration. Find your assigned school here. New students and SCS students who change home address must have two approved proofs of residence. Additional information is required for shared residency. Students must be up to date on required immunizations and physicals or have an approved exemption on file to attend school.
Verify if your child will ride the bus at school before day 1. This will ensure your child has a bus assignment.
