Memphians know it’s really the Christmas season when they see the familiar holiday lighting at the First Tennessee Building at 165 Madison Ave. Construction on the 332-foot-tall skyscraper began in 1961 and was completed in 1964. It has three floors below ground and 25 above. The bank also has an inside display worth checking out: Near the tellers’ row, there’s an enormous tree made of potted poinsettia plants (a great background for a quick Christmas selfie).
