Millington First Baptist is hosting a free Leadership Lunch and Learn for area businesses on Tuesday. Lunch will be 11:30-noon and from noon–12:45 p.m. Willie McLaurin from the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board will be presenting on leadership. McLaurin is a native of North Carolina and the author of two books, Which Race are You Running and VIP: Very Important Purpose. He has studied at North Carolina Central University and Duke University. McLaurin also served in the United States Army Military Intelligence Corp where he was attached to a Special Operations Unit. The 14th Annual Black History Program will be held St. Paul Chapel M.B. Church located at 8991 Richardson Landing Road in Drummonds with Pastor Dr. W.E. Gatlin. The event is scheduled for Feb. 17 with the title Anointed By God with the theme Gifted Hands and the thought of “You’re Blessed to be a Blessing.” The honorees will be Shunta S. Tuggle, Vera M. Attention Class of 2023, the Millington Central High School incoming ninth grade Open House will be held Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. at MCHS. Get a chance to tour the school, meet the teachers, learn about clubs and activities. MCHS guidance counselors will visit Millington Middle School Feb. 6 to discuss course selections.
