For the first time in school history, the Millington Lady Trojans are Region volleyball champions. The Lady Trojans won the Region 8-2A Volleyball Tournament with three-set victories over the Raleigh-Egypt Lady Pharaohs and Ripley Lady Tigers yesterday in the William Osteen Gymnasium. Millington's Region title earned the team a spot in Sub-State Thursday and a home game at 7 p.m. with a trip to the 2017 Class 2A State Tournament on the line. Head Coach Whitney Horton expressed gratitude to her players, coaches, administration, faculty, supporters, fans and the student body for a great turn out for the championship game against Ripley. The 2017 Region champion Lady Trojans are Olivia Ballard, Addison Coulter, TZ House, Paige Hall, Lily Morton, Hannah Clifton, Sierra Wilburn, Kennedy Lamar, Averianna Smith and Ally Mareno, Assistant Coach Abby Morris and Head Coach Whitney Horton.
