The 2015 Millington Central High School Football Banquet was held last month at the Baker Community Center. Surrounded by the jerseys of the 2015-16 senior class, the Trojan coaches and players were joined by family, friends, faculty, boosters and community supporters. After the dinner and reflections on the season that ended in the first round of the Class 4A State Playoffs at Hardin County, Head Coach Chris Michaels handed out the annual awards. Among those awards, seniors Eldon Tyms and Jonathan “Jonjon” Clements were honored with offensive and defensive players of the year respectively. Then Tyms and Clements joined fellow seniors Kameron Middleton and Kip Fleming as the 2015 Captains’ Award winners.
Michaels also wanted to highlight 24 of 54 football players had a 3.0 or better for the fall semester. They were recognized at the banquet. Tyms, Middleton, Chris Bradley and Avyon Bess were four-year players with cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better.
