2020 West 10 Media Female AOY- Maddie’s Masterpiece: Legendary Lady Mustang career adds another honor

The 2020 West 10 Media Female Athlete of the Year is Maddie Eskin, graduate of Houston High School and currently at the University of Tennessee. She made her college debut in the season opener at Alabama on Sept. 19, coming off the bench and playing for 20 minutes.
Eskin, the daughter of Karen and Marc Eskin, racked up an impressive resume’ to earn the honor that represents the best female athlete in the coverage areas of The Bartlett Express, The Collierville Herald-Independent, The Germantown News/Shelby Sun Times, The Leader and The Millington Star.
The award is for the area’s best student/athlete 2019-2020 TSSAA athletic calendar.
Eskin joined the Tennessee Lady Vols Soccer team in January as a mid-year enrollee. She played for Houston High School helping the Lady Mustangs win back-to-back State titles in 2017 and 2018. She was named Tennessee Player of the Year and All-American by the United Soccer Coaches in 2019.
Eskin recorded a career-best 39 goals and 33 assists her senior season, earning team MVP honors and was picked up All-State honors back-to-back years in 2018 and 2019. She was a member of the track & field and cross country programs at Houston. Between her sports, Eskin was an impressive student graduating in the top 20 out of 478 in her senior class. She also played club soccer for 02 Lady Lobos Rush in Collierville, capturing two State championships.
