In the school year of consistent change and frequent sacrifices, Millington Municipal Schools gathered together in the foryear of the Performing Arts Center for the Millington Excellence (ME) Awards.
Millington Municipal School District Superintendent James “Bo” Griffin opened the ceremony thanking all the teachers from E.A. Harrold Elementary, Millington Elementary, Millington Middle School and Millington Central High School.
Then he recognized the local sponsors who helped make the day possible. These sponsors provided the gifts and plaques to honor a few of the educators from the district for the 2020-21 school year.
Teacher plaques were made possible by Patriot Bank, Larry Jackson president. Other monthly sponsors were Kiwanis International Millington Club with representative Mike Caruthers; Jones Insurance Agency, Terry Jones; Dynamix, representative Cory Wilcox; Speight Family Medical with Deanna Speight; Huffman CPA with Bethany Huffman; and monthly recognition of teachers sponsors First Baptist Church Millington with Brian Exum, Children’s and Preschool; Pastor Andrew Harbor, student and mission ministry and Millington Public Library with Stephanie Kinsler, Library Director.
The 2020-21 ME Award recipients were from E.A. Harrold: Fannie Eavenson, Meron Ticer, Heather Chalker, Missi Joyner, Danielle Martin and Amy Dickson; Millington Elementary: Tiffany Kost, Charlene Cockrell, Alyssa Chandler, Lara Landry, Deborah Hayes and Collen McNeil; Millington Middle School: Jessica Cartwright, Valerie Shavers, Nikki Stevens, Cathy Fox, Aaron Arnold and Malcolm Sanders; Millington Central High Shcool: Abigail Wade, Mary Niemann, Aaron Dechant, Donnie Garrison, Shirley Szalay and Lorrin Cupp.
