2023 West 10 Media Male Athlete of the Year- Vice’s Grip: Houston two-sport standout lands top honor, next stop Creighton Bluejays Basketball

The 2023 West 10 Media Male Athlete of the Year is Houston High School’s Brock Vice.

The was voted the best multiple-sport performer for the publications of The Bartlett Express, The Collierville Herald-Independent, The Germantown News Shelby Sun Times and The Millington Star. 

Vice is a 6’11, 225-pound center in basketball and was a big target at wide receiver in football. 

He has committed to the Creighton Bluejays for basketball. 

On the court Vice was a part of the State championship Mustang team as a sophomore. 

Then he went on to average 19.1 points a game and 10.3 rebounds as a junior for Houston.

Meanwhile he was one of the favorite targets for Mustang quarterbacks on the gridiron. 

Halfway through the 2022 season, Vice racked up 377 yards and scored 8 touchdowns. 

He leads the Mustangs in receptions and touchdowns. Vice was named First-Team All-Region 8-6A. He led Houston in most major receiving categories his senior season. 

With offers for football, Vice’s focus for the next level was on the hardwood. He played with the Arkansas Hawks on the AAU Adidas circuit last summer, averaging nearly 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks a game.

Senior season for the Mustangs was a success for Vice being named a Mr. Basketball Class 4A Finalist with a double-double average of 19 points and 13 rebounds. 

Brock will be playing basketball for Creighton starting his fall.
