On May 6, the staff and administration of Millington Central High School set up an obstacle course for Class of 2020 students and parents.
In the parking lot of the Performing Arts Center, seniors rode in their vehicles from station to station to pick up their cap/gown, awards, tickets for the May 29 graduation and turn in their laptops.
Millington Central High School Senior Counselor Georgette Farmer e-mailed the students about the Senior Pick-Up day from 9 to 11 a.m.
Things ran smoothly throughout the morning under the direction of Prinicpal Mark Neal.
Neal expressed his joy and relief of the upcoming May 29 dual graduation to be held on the campus.
Originally scheduled for May 14 on the campus of MCHS at Mooney Boswell Field, the Class of 2020 will be honored and recognized later in the month.
The new date for the graduation is planned for May 29 on the football field.
The ceremony will be split into two commencements for the Class of 2020. At 5 p.m., students with a last name between A-K will walk across the stage.
Then at 7:15 p.m., children with last names L-Z will graduate.
Both observances will be in accordance with the social distancing guidelines set forth by the Tennessee Department of Education.
Each senior will be given four tickets and each person attending must have a ticket.
All attendees will sit in designated areas in the bleachers marked 6-feet a part.
Seniors will receive more information regarding arrival times and other important information soon.
