On Friday Millington City Manager Ed Haley was surprised by dozens of friends, family and colleagues for an unexpected birthday bash. The occasion was put together by Shirley Maes in the office of Haley to celebrate his upcoming 85th birthday with cake and ice cream. Haley was born Feb. 18, 1938 and grew up to be a prominent leader in Millington wearing various hats over the decades.
