At the end of June, the votes were tabulated and the first tie in The Millington Star Male Athlete of the Year occurred with Tipton-Rosemark Academy’s Tyler Byrd (far right) and Munford’s Christian Perez (far left) deadlocked. Both graduates will be awarded with the 2022 Male Athlete of the Year.
The runaway winner for Female Athlete of the Year was Millington’s Micaiah Halliburton. All three will be presented with their award and are in the running for the 2022 West 10 Media Athletes of the Year which includes The Star’s sister papers The Germantown News, The Collierville Herald Independent and The Bartlett Express.
