Goat Day 2024

The 2024 International Goat Days  kicks off on September 7 at the Millington Sports Complex with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. Festival gates will be open from at that time and will close at 6 p.m. Parking is $5 per car. 

Come early, parking is limited. Enjoy an array of entertainment options including live music throughout the day from the MCHS Jazz Band, Dylan Robbins, Amber McCain Band, and Risky Whiskey Boys. Guest can take part in a variety of vendors and activities, including a goat beauty pageant, goat yoga hosted by the Millington Family YMCA and Hotshot Farms, an all-day kid zone benefiting the Kiwanis Club of Millington, The Ninja Gym, balloon twisting by Twisted Mr. Rogers, a rock wall, mechanical bull, face painting and more. So, get ready for a fun-filled day. The community village booth space is $60 for 10×10 space. Power is not available.

St. Williams’ Event Sept. 15

The St. Williams’ Knights of Columbus Annual Soccer Challenge will be on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 12:30 p.m. on the Grass Field by the Playground behind the Family Life Center. This event is for Boy’s and Girl’s ages 9-14. All are welcomed to participate, even if they don’t attend our Church. The winner’s will advance to the District or Regional Soccer Challenge’s on date’s TBA. 

Millington Food Pantry

The Millington Food Pantry is located on the grounds of Millington First United Methodist Church at 8029 Wilkinsville Road, is available to qualified residents of 38053 living in Shelby County.  Hours of operation are each Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Call 901-872-2771 to make an appointment.  Appointments are not made  in advance of the day the pantry is open.

CBC Monthly Meeting

The Millington City Beautiful Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at the Millington IDB Building located at 7965 Veterans Parkway. The public is welcomed to attend.

TOPS Weekly Meeting

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets weekly at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street on Fridays from 9:30 to 10 a.m. TOPS is a non-profit weight-loss support group and is very affordable. Your first meeting is free. Everyone is welcome who wishes to lose weight. TOPS is available to men, women and children from age 7 to 100-plus. Go to TOPS.ORG for more information. 

Senior Exercise

The senior exercise club meets Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street in Millington. For more information, call 873-5770.

The Millington Senior Citizen’s Club is meeting again Wednesdays at 10 a.m. with entertainment weekly. The club meets at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street. For more information, call 873-5770.
