TOPS Weekly Meeting

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets weekly at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street on Fridays from 9:30 to 10 a.m. TOPS is a non-profit weight-loss support group and is very affordable. Your first meeting is free. Everyone is welcome who wished to lose weight. TOPS is available to men, women and children from age 7 to 100-plus. Go to TOPS.ORG for more information. 

Parks & Rec signups 

Millington Parks and Recreation Baseball, Softball and T-Ball registrations will end January 31. Register at www.millingtontn.gov. Its for ages 4-14 (must be 4 by April 1) and there is a cost of $75 per player for Millington residents and $85 per player for non-Millington residents. Each child will receive a jersey, socks, and a hat or visor. Each player will be responsible for buying their own pants and batting helmet. All batting helmets need a face mask except for those playing Junior Baseball. Gray pants for baseball and those girls playing co-ed T-ball, black pants for softball. Practices begin February/March, games begin in April games will be played during the week Monday through Friday. Call the office with any questions at 873-5770. Normal business hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

Senior Club

The Millington Senior Citizen’s Club is meeting again Wednesdays at 10 a.m. with entertainment weekly. The club meets at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street. For more information, call 873-5770. 

CBC Monthly Meeting

The Millington City Beautiful Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at the Millington IDB Building located at 7965 Veterans Parkway. The public is welcomed to attend. 

Millington Library

The Library hosts free Adult Ukulele Lessons every Monday at 5 p.m., and there are other events like Afternoon Storytime at the Millington Public Library. For more information, call 872-1585 or visit 4858 Navy Road in Millington.

Millington Food Pantry

The Millington Food Pantry is located on the grounds of Millington First United Methodist Church at 8029 Wilkinsville Road, is available to qualified residents of 38053 living in Shelby County.  Hours of operation are each Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Call 901-872-2771 to make an appointment.  Appointments are not made  in advance of the day the pantry is open.

Senior Exercise

The senior exercise club meets Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street in Millington. For more information, call 873-5770.

Valentine’s Dinner in Millington

City of Millington Valentine Dinner will be held Feb. 13 at the Baker Community Center  at 7942 Church Street in Millington from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance and for more information call 873-5770. 

3-on-3 Hoops

Millington Parks and Recreation has started registration for the upcoming Adult 3 on 3 basketball league. You can register now at www.millingtontn.gov . The last day to register and pay your fees is Friday, February 16 at noon. Cost is $250/team. You must be 18 or older to play in the league.

 Games will start the first week of March. There will be a 10 game schedule and a single elimination tournament. There is a roster limit of 6 per team. All games will be played during the week. Call 901-873-5774 or you can email Mark at [email protected] with any questions
