Millington Library

The Library hosts free Adult Ukulele Lessons every Monday at 5 p.m., and there are other events like Afternoon Storytime at the Millington Public Library. For more information, call 872-1585 or visit 4858 Navy Road in Millington.

Summer of Fun in Millington 

The City of Millington Summer of Fun will be held throughout June and July on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon at Aycock Park located at 7330 Renda Street in Millington. Activities are subject to change. Things kicked off June 1 with Making Slime & Experiment.

 CBC Monthly Meeting

The Millington City Beautiful Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at the Millington IDB Building located at 7965 Veterans Parkway. The public is welcomed to attend. 

Senior Exercise

The senior exercise club meets Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street in Millington. For more information, call 873-5770.

Senior Club

The Millington Senior Citizen’s Club is meeting again Wednesdays at 10 a.m. with entertainment weekly. The club meets at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street. For more information, call 873-5770. 

Millington Food Pantry

The Millington Food Pantry is located on the grounds of Millington First United Methodist Church at 8029 Wilkinsville Road, is available to qualified residents of 38053 living in Shelby County.  Hours of operation are each Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Call 901-872-2771 to make an appointment.  Appointments are not made  in advance of the day the pantry is open.

Driver School coming to Millington

Memphis/Millington’s Rule the Road, Roadmaster Driver School will be held Aug. 19 at 8050 Singleton Avenue in Millington. The event will be held that Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To register, visit https://ruletheroadtennessee.com 

Millington Rec Basketball Signups underway

Millington Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for the upcoming Adult 3 on 3 basketball leagues. These leagues are for ages 18 and up. You can register now until Friday, August 11 at 2:30 p.m. at www.millingtontn.gov  There is a cost for each team, per league with a maximum of six players per team. Cost for individuals is $50/person per league. The department plans to have four leagues: men’s, women’s, co-ed and over 40 (men). Men will play on Monday, coed-Tuesday, over 40 (men)-Wednesday and women-Thursday starting September 4. You will play a doubleheader on the night you are scheduled and will not have to come in on multiple nights unless you are playing in multiple leagues. Millington Parks and Recreation reserves the right to change the nights if there are not enough teams for a particular league. You will have to come by Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street to pay your fees or you can call the office at 901-873-5770 and pay over the phone. Business hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. -3 p.m., on Friday.
