

Flag City Freedom Celebration
Celebrate the spirit of community and the thrill of fireworks at the City of Millington Parks and Recreation Department’s annual fireworks display on July 2. Gates open at 6 p.m., with fireworks beginning at sundown. Parking will be $5 per vehicle. Enjoy an evening filled with music by Sherry Oke, food and beverage concessions (available for purchase), and a kid zone with inflatables.
~Entry will be located at Jack Huffman and Newport. Bring your picnic basket, blankets, and lawn chairs and join us for an evening of community celebration and a breathtaking fireworks display. To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please note that no tents, pets, personal fireworks, grills, campfires, soliciting, or political campaigning will be allowed. Senior Exercise
The senior exercise club meets Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street in Millington. For more information, call 873-5770.

Millington Food Pantry
The Millington Food Pantry is located on the grounds of Millington First United Methodist Church at 8029 Wilkinsville Road, is available to qualified residents of 38053 living in Shelby County. Hours of operation are each Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Call 901-872-2771 to make an appointment. Appointments are not made in advance of the day the pantry is open.
Senior Club
The Millington Senior Citizen’s Club is meeting again Wednesdays at 10 a.m. with entertainment weekly. The club meets at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street. For more information, call 873-5770.
TOPS Weekly Meeting
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets weekly at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street on Fridays from 9:30 to 10 a.m. TOPS is a non-profit weight-loss support group and is very affordable. Your first meeting is free. Everyone is welcome who wishes to lose weight. TOPS is available to men, women and children from age 7 to 100-plus. Go to TOPS.ORG for more information.
CBC Monthly Meeting
The Millington City Beautiful Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at the Millington IDB Building located at 7965 Veterans Parkway. The public is welcomed to attend.
Summertime Vending
Millington Parks and Recreation would like to invite you to the Second Annual Sweet Summertime Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, June 22, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Baker Community Center.

Coffee with Cops
Join the Millington Police Department for Coffee with a Cop on June 26. Get to know your local officers in a casual setting. Ask questions, share concerns, and build relationships with the Millington Police Department. The event will start at 8 a.m. at McDonald’s located at 7839 Highway 51. Come meet the officers and see how the Millington Police Department is working to keep our community safe.
