Annual Bluegrass Festival coming to Orgill Park Oct. 4
The Eighth Annual Aquasteli Bluegrass Music Festival set for Oct. 4 by the Lake at Orgill Golf Course located at 9080 Bethuel Road in Millington. “We are excited to help the City of Millington purchase the “Lone Sailor” statue by raising money on the festival day through my new non-profit called Hearts for the Park.” This is a full day of live music, food trucks, beer and wine garden, antique tractor show, antique cars, kids zone, arts and crafts, vendors and more. MEF Breakfast
The Millington Education Foundation will host its annual Sponsor Appreciation Breakfast at Olympic Steak & Pizza on Oct. 2 starting at 7:30 a.m., located at 8500 Wilkinsville Road in Millington. CBC Monthly Meeting
The Millington City Beautiful Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at the Millington IDB Building located at 7965 Veterans Parkway. The public is welcomed to attend.
Millington Food Pantry
The Millington Food Pantry is located on the grounds of Millington First United Methodist Church at 8029 Wilkinsville Road, is available to qualified residents of 38053 living in Shelby County. Hours of operation are each Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Call 901-872-2771 to make an appointment. Appointments are not made in advance of the day the pantry is open.
NSD Monthly Meeting Oct. 14
North Shelby Democrats will meet on Oct.14. The guestspeaker will be Anthony Buckner, Shelby County Chief Deputy Sheriff. Candidates are welcome to stop by and introduce themselves. NSD will be accepting donations to purchase musical items for the Millington Early Learning Academy.
