Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies were busy Christmas Day making an arrest in the case of Cleate Davis.

Deputies arrested 34-year-old Aleasha Cox after she confessed to her involvement in the robbery and death of Davis. Davis was found in his F-150 pick-up truck in the 7800 block of Mudville Road near Millington on Dec. 18. According to an affidavit, Davis had two gunshot wounds to his face when his burnt body was found in the truck.

Cox is charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery and she is due in court on December 29. Cox’s boyfriend, Morrieo Allen, 35, is also believed to have played a role in this murder and he is still on the run. The affidavit says that a witness helped to pin-point both suspects. The witness says that he was seen walking away from the burning car.

An active warrant for first-degree murder was issued for Allen.

Any information on the whereabouts Allen call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH or the SCSO Fugitive Division at 222-5620.
