Big day for Needham sparks Lady Rebels

Ashton Needham powered Tipton-Rosemark Academy Lady Rebels  from the plate and on the rubber April 15 leading TRA to a 12-3 victory over Evangelical Christian School. Needham put herself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels Varsity. She singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and fifth innings. Needham baffled the ECS Lady Eagle lineup, striking out nine batters. Needham allowed three earned runs on seven hits and one walk over seven innings. Everything was working at the plate for the the Lady Rebels in the fifth inning. ECS had no answer as TRA scored nine runs. The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with seven lead changes. TRA finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning.The Lady Rebels scored on an RBI double by Needham scoring her teammate Bethany Berger. Berger, Needham and  Jordyn Thornell helped lead TRA as the trio combined for nine hits and six RBIs.

ECS jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. It didn’t take long for the Lady Rebels to respond as they scored two runs of their own in the third.TRA scored on a steal of home by Anna Claire Williams and an error.
