The Bolton Wildcats’ objective Friday night in their home gymnasium was to earn a trip to Fayette-Ware for the 2026 District 15-3A Boys Basketball Tournament.
Standing in their way was the familiar foe of the Millington Trojans. The undermanned Trojans came out fighting leading 9-5 early in the first quarter and trailing only 15-13 at the end of the period. Bolton kept pace with the Trojans thanks to timely shooting from Rahsad Maclin and Anthony Suggs, holding a 26-25 lead over Millington at halftime. Then the Wildcats turned up the pressure to secure a 54-40 win and advance in the tournament.
The Wildcats got additional scoring in the third quarter from Calvion Williford. Bolton applied full-court pressure on the Millington guards leading to turnovers and a 16-3 run in the third period. Maclin closed out the competitive phase of the game with timely buckets to help the Wildcats win by 14 points.
