Star Staff Reports
The summer release of EA Sports’ Madden ’17 featured Millington Central High School product and All-Time Memphis great tight end Alan Cross.

On Friday it became official that he would be a part of the NFL when Cross made the opening day roster for the Tampa Bay Bucs. This morning, news spread that the undrafted rookie survived the final cut to make the 53-man roster.

Cross graduated from MCHS in 2011 as an All-Region player spending time at tight end, linebacker, long snapper and even quarterback. He was a AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star and 2011 Millington Star Male Athlete of the Year.
He walked-on at The University of Memphis that fall and later earned a scholarship helping the Tigers reach two bowl games.

Cross set records at The U of M at the tight end position. Cross caught more touchdown passes than any other tight end in school history with 14. The former walk-on caught 90 passes for more than 1,000 yards.
