It’s never too late for a signing day.

Today on the campus of Brighton High School, 2014 graduate Nathan Newman held a signing ceremony in the BHS Gymnasium to play baseball at Motlow State Community College.

Newman will play for the Bucks and Head Baseball Coach Dan McShea.

Newman was a standout for former Brighton Cardinal Head Coach Brian Oswalt helping guide Brighton to Regionals this past season. During his time with the Cardinals, Newman played every position except first base. He plans to contribute for the Bucks in anyway.

The 2014 Bucks finished 40-24, finished as runner-up in the TCCAA/Region VII Tournament, and advanced to the NJCAA East Central District Tournament. Meanwhile Newman was one of the top pitchers for Brighton taking on teams like Dyer County, Hardin County and Munford in District 13-3A.

Newman’s arrival to play college baseball in Tullahoma, Tenn., gave Oswalt 5 for 5 in his final senior class as skipper at Brighton. Newman was joined at his signing by parents Rives and Ashley and siblings Carson and Shelton.
