Local entrepreneur and owner of Angel Cares Home Health Angel Williams is in the final stages of opening a new business in Millington.
The former home of Metro PCS across from Walmart located at 8496 Wilkinsville Road Suite 105 will be the new home of Scrubs.
Scrubs will specialize in selling medical apparel and accessories. Williams hopes to have her new business fully operating by Aug. 1.
“Anyone in the medical professional from veterinarians, CNAs, physical therapists and students should come shop here,” she said. “Being in the healthcare field since ‘98, that introduced me to supplies we need. I’ve worn several different scrubs. I’ve used spectroscopes, tote bags,anything we needed. It was natural to open a store with something I am so familiar with.”
Her store has undergone renovations in recent weeks with construction work done by Brian Johnson’s TD Construction. The construction crew transformed the former cell phone venue into a clean slate for Williams’ new operation.
A longtime Millington resident, Williams worked in many phases of the medical industry until opening her own business in caregiving in 2013. Having to travel miles and miles to buy scrubs and other medical supplies, Williams saw a need for this type of retail store in the Millington area to serve the diverse group of residents who work in the medical profession.
“My hope for the community is to bring a variety on this end of town,” she said. “We don’t have anything like this. A lot of people in Millington and the next couple of towns, we have to travel so far out of town to get things like this.
“We have a lot of nurses and people in the medical profession that live out here,” Williams concluded. “Me opening this spot here, I just want to cater to the clients here to know they can shop online or run right up the street to get what they need.
