Building relations with those who share interests and experiences the Millington Senior Citizens Club at Baker Community Center has brought people together since the early 1960s. “It is really a good way to meet new people and form great relationships,” Club Vice President Eugene Leech said. “We all have such a good time together.” The group of elders meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the Baker Community Center for meetings and social events. The group has entertainment every Wednesday. With about 100 members in the club, Leech said many venture from as far away as Tipton County and the Memphis areas. “A lot of people have found out about us from friends who were current members,” Leech said. “We always greet new people.” Although the club includes members from many different religious denominations, Leech said the group supports one another and families by prayers and hospital visitations. The club also gives back to the community though donations and volunteer work. For more information, call 872-7271 or 268-8103.

The Frayser/Raleigh Singers entertained the Millington seniors recently at the Baker Community Center. They sang songs that brought back memories for some of the seniors, and they also performed gospel songs.
