The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

Millington Airport Authority Board of Commissioners Meetings are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. every third Tuesday at Millington Regional Jetport. For more information, call 873-5796.

Jordan’s Thrifts, Gifts & Java located at 6646 Highway 51 North by Plantation Oaks Hotel will be starting classes on Jan. 6 from 6-8 p.m. for the following classes: Domestic Violence, Shelter from the Storm (Overcoming Sexual Abuse) and Celebrate Recovery (Overcoming Addictions). Tops (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly)  meets on Fridays from 9-11 a.m. at Millington Community Center. Come join the group to have fun. For more information, call Doris Landerman at 573-8536.

West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church is inviting all to their Sunday morning worship services. The subject of the worship services during January, 2015, is Stewardship. Rev. James Hamblin will be delivering the message each Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Soul Out Ministries’ Hot Nutritional Meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. The program is a local non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. The NSA Mid-South Fleet and Family Support Center and Unemployment Eliminators are hosting a Veterans Job Fair at the NSA Mid-South Conference Center on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Two flyers are attached, one for local businesses that may have openings and want to register for a booth at the job fair, and the other flyer targeting job seekers. Any Chamber members who may have positions available if you would like to register for a booth contact Jennie at 678-863-0425.  Please post the flyer regarding those who may be seeking employment to help spread the word about the job fair, which is open to the public. The Chamber will have a table at the job fair, where we will be able to provide information about Chamber membership, as well as information about assistance with starting a new business.

Jan. 11
Southwest Tennessee Community College is hosting a four-week baseball camp starting Jan. 11. Southwest Tennessee Head Coach George Sykes will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and baserunning. Space is limited. Jan. 17
The New Business Expo will be showcasing small businesses in the city of Memphis and surrounding areas. This event will highlight unique and entertaining products, one stop shopping, and family fun. Local businesses will have the opportunity to market their products, network, and increase revenue. The New Business Expo will be held Saturday Jan. 17, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Hickory Ridge Mall located on 6075 Winchester Road, Memphis, TN 38115. Shoppers will have the opportunity to find huge discounts and deals for a variety of items catering to all occasions. Shoppers will be amazed at how much the New Business Expo has to offer.
