-The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

-The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

-The Millington Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Old Timers located at 7918 C Street. For more information, call David Adams at 581-4886.

-The EA chapter is here in Millington. Emotions Anonymous International. Emotions Anonymous (EA) exists to support individuals with emotional difficulties in their efforts to live a more manageable life by using the Emotions Anonymous Program of recovery. July 2
The 2016 Flag City Freedom Celebration is scheduled for July 2 at Navy Lake. This event is brought to you by Naval Support Activity Mid-South and the city of Millington. Gates open at 4 p.m. The Freedom Celebration will include a fireworks show and there will be a children’s play area. Bring your picnic basket, blankets, coolers and lawn chairs. Food and concessions will be available. Alcohol will be sold. No pets, no fireworks or no open fires (also no grills, tents, soliciting or political campaigning). The gate fee is $5 per vehicle. July 4
Munford’s July 4th 2016 – Celebrate Independence will be held Monday starting at 7:30 p.m. with a new location. The event is moving to Poplar Park on College and Douglas Streets. For more information, visit www.munford.com

July 24-27
Vacation Bible School time has arrived at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. VBS is for ages Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade and will be July 24-27. Some of the areas covered will be science, story time, crafts, recreation  and of course, snacks. The hours are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Registration is on July 24 and graduation is July 27. Aug. 27
The Mid-South Camaro Club “Riding For a Cause” presents the Riverfront Car Show at Tom Lee Park Saturday in Memphis. The event will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a fee.
