Secretary of State Visit

Registration has started for the upcoming Millington Arts, Recreation and Parks youth volleyball league. You can register your team until Friday, Nov. 6 online at www.millingtontn.gov. The league is for ages 11-17 and there is a cost per team. Games will be played on Saturdays at the Harvell Civic Center Gymnasium starting November 14. The Millington Central High School Class of 1965 Reunion will be held Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. at Olympic Restaurant located at 8500 Wilkinsville in Millington. The dress is casual and there is no cost for a class member. The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1382 meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at Ryan’s, 8165 Highway 51 North in Millington. Arrive by 11:30 a.m. to partake of the buffet and meeting will commence at noon. For more information, call Carolyn Cribbis at 413-7123.

Upper Canaan MB Church located at 9090 Highway 51 North in Millington will have its last Clothes-Give-Away of the year Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. A variety of clothes and shoes for male and female adults as well as for children of all ages will be available. Accessories such as jewelry, belts, hats, scarves and gloves will also be given. Household items along with toys and Christmas ornaments/decorations will be included. Pastor Julius Hawkins and members are asking all who can and will to come. The Third Annual Thanksgiving Feast presented by Soul Out Ministries will be held Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bakers Community Center at 7942 Church Street in Millington. Everyone is welcome and if you would like to volunteer, call Carol Jenkins at 949-1675.

Munford Baptist Church located at 1253 Munford Ave., presents Christmas Village 2015 on Saturday, from 6-8 p.m. The admission is free but no childcare is provided. The Christmas Village will include music, refreshments, and various village shops where children can create Christmas crafts and receive free giveaways. There will also be an indoor snow area and a visit from Mrs. Claus. For more information call, the church at 837-6325.
