Oct. 29 The Millington Crisis Center is having a fund raiser from now until Oct. 29.  The Center has a number of boy’s costumes for $5 and also have teens and women’s costumes for $1.

Unfortunately, the Center does not have any small children’s costumes, however, some of the women’s costumes can be broken down for younger children. There are also white and gray wigs for $3 each.  Come in early for best selection. The Center is located at 8133 Wilkinsville Road and will be open for costume shopping Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Oct. 31
Fall Festival / Halloween Carnival will be held Saturday, Oct. 31. Join the fun at the Annual Fall Festival / Halloween Carnival at the Millington Farmers’ Market on Halloween from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at View Facility located at 5152 Easley Street. For more information, call 873-5770.

Trick ‘R’ Trunk will be held Halloween at Embury UMC located at 2060 Locke Cuba Road in Millington. The event is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with trick ‘r’ treat, hayrides, hot dogs, chili, drinks, pumpkin carving and decorating contest. All ages are invited to the event.

Faith Baptist Halloween: Be a Spark in the Dark will be held Halloween from 4-6 p.m. at 900 Simmons Road in Drummonds. For more information, call 837-2683.

Nov. 7
West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church will host a Church Craft Bazaar on Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Spaces are available for a fee.  The money for the spaces is due by Nov. 2.  For more information, call Sharon Hance at 876-3265.

Fellowship Baptist Church FLC will host a Fish Fry Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. with pond raised catfish, white beans, fries, cole slaw, hushpuppies, tea or coffee and dessert. The church is located at 4635 Quito Drummonds Road in Quito.

The St William Women’s Club is having their Annual Harvest Dinner and Silent Auction on Sat. Nov. 7 in our Life Center located next door to the Church.  We will be serving Turkey and Dressing and all the trimmings.  The Auction will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served starting at 5:30. Tickets will be available in advance, call Bitha Luze at 872-3635 or Shirley Maes at 647-6111 or the Church Office at 872-4099.

Nov. 14
Registration has started for the upcoming Millington Arts, Recreation and Parks youth volleyball league. You can register your team until Friday, Nov. 6 online at www.millingtontn.gov.  The league is for ages 11-17 and there is a cost per team. Games will be played on Saturdays at the Harvell Civic Center Gymnasium starting November 14. Contact Mark Healy at [email protected] or 873-5770 for more information.

The Millington Central High School Class of 1965 Reunion will be held Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. at  Olympic Restaurant located at  8500 Wilkinsville in Millington. The dress is casual and there is no cost for a class member. VFW News *The Combat Veterans from VFW Post 7175 invite the public out to 4681 Cuba Millington Road in Millington for the annual Chili Cook Off. The contest will be held Oct. 24 starting at 8 a.m. The meat inspection will be at 10 a.m. and judging at 1:30 p.m. There will be cash prizes. For more information, call 872-7175.

*The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7175 is extending a special invitation to everyone to the Warrior Lounge. The VFW Post 7175 is located at 4681 Cuba Millington Road in Millington. It supports the needs of veterans, active duty personnel and the community. It’s business hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Warrior Lounge is open at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. The lounge offers food, games and more. Wednesday evenings from 7 to 11 p.m. is Ladies’ Night.
