The City of Millington Appreciation Luncheon was held last Thursday at the Baker Community Auditorium.
City Manager Ed Haley welcomed and showcased Millington leaders, volunteers, investors and friends.
After a lunch provided by Rick Laxton Caters, Haley took to the microphone to thank the City of Millington employees who organized the event.
Then Haley wished Merry Christmas and expressed sincere gratitude to the like of the Millington Area Chamber of Commerce, Millington Municipal Schools, Millington Education Foundation, Board of Mayor and Alderman and many more. Haley noted the growth in developing residency in the city and record number of business permits.
The work of the Industrial Development Board’s Charles Gulotta has helped with the uptick in business coming to Flag City. Gulotta announced his official retire to be effective at the end of the year.
Haley gave Gulotta a moment to express his thanks for years of service in Millington.
Before those in attendance left, Alderman Thomas McGhee took to the microphone to return the favor to Haley. Nominated for the Tennessee City Manager of the Year, Haley didn’t take home the honor.
But McGhee unofficially gave Haley the title because of his Christian-based leadership style and the record number of improvements in infrastructure, commercial and resident growth for Millington.
