Star Staff Reports

The Millington Star is announcing the recent addition of Debby Clifton as sales representative.

Clifton, a 1996 graduate of Millington Central High School, is a native of Flag City and currently resides there. Her daughter Hannah is also a graduate of MCHS as part of the Class of 2019 and her son Tommy is scheduled to walk across the stage of MCHS this May.

Clifton was voted the 2019 Readers’ Choice Woman of the Year by the readers of The Millington Star for her involvement with the community and support of Millington Municipal Schools.

She was given a special award of “Team Mom” this past football season by the Millington Trojans.

“I love being a part of the wonderful community of Millington and having an opportunity to work behind the scenes is allowing me to continue being a part of the #ONEMILLINGTON theme,” Clifton said. “This frame of mind pushes me to work extra hard. I want people to know that everything I do is done for our community. I am very excited about the start of something new and learning the ins and outs of marketing and pushing Millington businesses through advertisements.”

Clifton is also known to many in the community as the secretary and receptionist for Millington Municipal Schools. Her visibility in the Millington area will increase with her role at The Millington Star. She will handle advertising, promotions and special sections for the newspaper in its 70th year of operation.

“We are thrilled to have Debby Clifton as the sales executive in Millington,” West 10 Media sales director Vicki Clark said. “Debby will be a huge asset to our paper. If you need any adverting feel free to call her.”

Clifton has been a contributor to the pages of The Millington Star prior to her hiring.

“Just a phone call away, Clifton has been a tremendous promoter of her school (MCHS), community and neighbors,” Millington Star editor Thomas Sellers Jr. said. “She is a champion for Millington and especial the children.”
