The 2016 volleyball season kicked off last night in the William Osteen Gymnasium.

The night also marked the debut of Millington alumni Tamarah Brandon as Head Coach of the Lady Trojans. Brandon’s squad pulled out a three-set victory against the visiting Brighton Lady Cardinals 25-22, 25-18 and 25-20.

The Lady Trojans were paced by the play of Addison Coulter, Hannah Clifton, Paige Hall, Dymond Green, Camila Irizarry, Lily Morton and Divine Lurry in all three sets. The Lady Cardinals were competitive in the three sets with the play of Makayla Rose, Sidney Cottingham, Gracie Poirer, Lindsey Morrisette, Shamorow Taylor and Mary Grace Smith.

Brandon shared a small celebration with her team after the victory. While at Millington from 2006-10 as a student, Brandon was a three-sport letterman in volleyball, basketball and track. The Lady Trojans are defending District 15-2A Tournament champions.
