Coach of the Year

Last month Munford Head Football Coach JR Kirby was presented the 2014 Shelby-Metro Sports Coach of the Year Award by Mark Healy. Kirby guided the Cougars back to the playoff this past season with a 7-3 record in the regular season and a second-place finish in District 13-3A. Munford missed the postseason last season. Kirby arrived on campus in early 2014 and used a power-running attack accompanied by solid defense to make the Cougars winners in the fall of 2014. Munford lost in a competitive First Round 5A contest to Henry County.
