Tipton County Fusion coached by Steve Craig and Shane Simpson consisting of Brighton, Covington and Rosemark players won five of six games in the Bring The Heat tournament in Tunica, Miss., the weekend of Sept. 15. The Fusion won the championship game 6-2 over Team United.
Mady Kate Gantt of Tipton-Rosemark Academy batted .642 with 4 steals and pitched 2 shutouts. Haley Craig of Brighton batted .625 on 10 hits in 6 games with 4 steals. Her Lady Cardinal and Fusion teammate Lulu Smith homered in champ game with 3 RBIs in the game. TRA’s Ashton Needham first game averaged .357 with 5 RBIs 2 doubles Smith was 3-1 with win in champ game while Gant did not allow a run to go 2-0. The Fusion scored 36 runs and allowed 9 en route to the chapionship.
