Football Offensive Star of the Season LaKeron Garcia The Millington athlete is heading to Memphis because of standout senior season. Garcia was selected as a 2013 Liberty Bowl High School All-Star and had three touchdowns in that game. Earlier in the season, Garcia scored five times against rival Brighton. Football Defensive Star of the Season Charles Mosley The Brighton Cardinal standout was the man in the middle slowing down most opponents run game and allowing the Brighton outside rush to attack the opposing quarterback. As one of the hottest prospects in West Tennessee, Mosley selected The University of Tennessee as his college home in December. Volleyball Star of the Season Cecily Gable The Munford junior was named District 13-3A MVP for leading her team in most offensive categories and another district title. Gable was also a part of the All-Region and All-Sectional teams helping the Lady Cougars reach Sub-State. Wrestling Star of the Season Luke Walker The Millington Trojan, Walker was the favorite in the 182-pound division his entire senior season. In the Region championship, Walker improved his record to 29-1, unbeaten in 182, beating Collierville’s Cameron Tarver. Girls Soccer Star of the Season Courtney Carpenter Carpenter was a leader in all phases for the Brighton Lady Cardinal district championship team this past season. Along with being an inspiritaual leader, Carpenter was a statistic leader in assists and goals for Brighton in 2013. Among the Stars Asha Burks (Millington) Iris Reyes (Millington) Emily Stewart (Millington) “Mo” Whitefoot (Brighton) Girls Basketball Star of the Season Kierra Richardson The Munford Lady Cougar junior small forward was one of the leading scorers on her team. She helped Munford reach the Region 7-3A Semifinals.
