Trey Erwin

Stampede USA organizers announced plans today to pay tribute to two local heroes during the inaugural music and entertainment event, scheduled to take place Oct. 9-11 at USA Stadium at 4351 Babe Howard Avenue. On Sunday night (Oct. 11) national touring folk-rock artist Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors will headline a tribute concert honoring the legacy of Trey Erwin. The Collierville teenager and St. Jude patient whose public battle with pancreatic cancer inspired thousands of friends, family and fans, lost his life to the disease in 2012. A portion of the proceeds from the fair will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “St. Jude is honored to be a beneficiary of the Stampede USA Family Fair this year, and appreciative that Trey Erwin is being remembered in such a special way”  says Rich Peterson, the hospital’s Executive Director. In addition, Houston High School’s Allie Allen has been selected as Stampede USA’s Event Honoree, and her namesake will be included in the scheduled dance and cheer competition as the Allie Allen-Stampede USA Dance & Cheer Showcase. Allen, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2013 just two weeks before leading Schilling Farms Middle School to a national dance title, continues her fight with the recurring disease. Ben Wolfe, Stampede USA event organizer says he created the event as a platform to give something back to the local community, in a family-friendly way. The fair will include amusement rides, games, food and dance competitions, and music concerts that include country stars Craig Morgan (Friday, Oct. 9) and Big Smo (Saturday, Oct. 10.) “What a pleasure it is to be honoring two very special kids this year at Stampede USA. Even though Trey is no longer with us,  his memory will last a lifetime. Also, I want to thank Allie Allen for sharing her story and for being such a beautiful inspiration to all families despite her continuous battles with this terrible disease.”

Stampede USA Family Fair’s mission is to present a quality annual event while providing a place for the community to share traditions, creativity, music and local culture. Tickets for the event are available exclusively through www.stampedeusa.com.
