Greetings from the World of Real Estate with Julè. It is good to see our community out and about again, dining out, gathering supplies for projects, general shopping and just enjoying the beautiful weather we have had recently. The leaves are falling and the cool breezes are welcomed in while saying goodbye to summer. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio this weekend appreciating the nature that surrounds us.
It is time to plan for leaf clean up, lawn care that needs to be done at this time of year for a nicer lawn next spring, and plan for the various holidays coming up soon. Check your local paper and online to see what festivities are coming up, especially for the children and seniors.
Election for the presidency is coming up soon. If you can get out to go shopping and visiting, you can get to the polls to vote. This is a very important election this year. Our country has been through some awful turmoil and needs prayer from all of us. Not all of us understand the importance of voting. It is one of the most important acts that you can do for you, your family and your country.
Hopefully, all of you have been healthy this year and not experienced the COVID-19 virus. The numbers have been skewed with this being is a prime example. One couple told me that her husband tested positive for COVID-19, she tested negative, but the doctor said she still had it because she lives with him. That is absolutely ridiculous! If you live with someone and get the flu, but test negative, then you do not have the flu. Medical practitioners – please stop the falsities. It is not helping the people in our communities. Yes, people have died from this virus. They have died from many other reasons as well, but those aren’t so talked about these days. Have you noticed that you are not hearing about people dying of cancer, heart attacks, car accidents, and other causes of death which existed before the COVID-19 scare? In other words, people have died from many other causes which are not being mentioned. Think about it for a minute. Do a little research about what Medicare and Medicaid pays for a “COVID-19 death”. Because some medical facilities are paid a certain amount for these COVID deaths, the numbers of COVID-19 deaths have become surprisingly high. An investigation is under way and I hope they get down to the nitty gritty of the actual causes of death caused by COVID-19 and actual deaths caused from some other reason but with COVID-19 . There is a big difference.
Moving on to something that helps me when me and my loved ones are sick. Chicken soup. Chicken soup and crackers I say. This is such a good thing to consume when you are sick. Now is a good time to stock up on some good old Progresso Chicken Soup. Homemade chicken soup is the best soup of course. Sometimes you just feel too terrible to make it and that is when those cans of soup come in handy.
My chicken soup is simply made of chicken breast, carrots (fresh or frozen crinkle), celery, salt and pepper. You can serve it with rice or noodles. I keep it simple and it is delicious.
The flu season is upon us. Please take care during this time as well. Take common sense precautions: Wash Your Hands often and thoroughly. Do not eat or drink after anyone else. Only use hand sanitizer as a last resort. Disinfect areas of your home most often touched such as doorknobs, cabinet handles, stove knobs, refrigerator and sink handles, toilet handles, faucet handles and your cell phone. And whatever you do, do not forget to disinfect the remote controls. When in your vehicle, you may want to take a moment to wipe down the steering wheel, gear shift, door handles (inside and out) and anything you touch in your car.
Plan some fun and happy times. This has been a stressful year for so many and we all deserve to be happy. Carve or color a pumpkin, put out a little fall decoration and visit friends and family.
Remember: Say Hello. Be Kind. Be Friendly. Embrace Life and all that it really offers. Keep Life Simple. Making good relationships is very important to our mental, emotional and physical health.
Pay it forward, you will be glad you did.
