CORDOVA — The St. Benedict Lady Eagles were spreading the wealth last week against the Millington Lady Trojans. The Lady Trojans made the trip to St. Benedict Gymnasium on Nov. 25 with a 2-2 record. Millington left with the 56-18 defeat and witnessing seven Lady Eagles hitting multiple field goals. St. Benedict led 17-4 after one quarter sparked by Nicole Ungaro and Braxton Powers. The Lady Eagles outscored Millington 17-3 in the second quarter to lead 34-7 at the break. The Lady Trojans’ points came courtesy of Tasia Bland and Tamia Aldridge with 5 of the 7 points. St. Benedict seized control of the game with another solid quarter outscoring Millington 16-4 in the third period. Aldridge and her teammate Jherika Brown scored for Millington in that period.
The fourth quarter Millington outscored St. Benedict 7-6 with back-to-back three-pointers from Traci Clark (above) and Lindsey Harris. St. Benedict was led by Powers with 12 points. Nicole Ferris scored 11 points and Ungaro added 10 in the winning effort.
